Browsing through the ICC list of tested and approved deck coatings, the addition of Londeck Fire Retardant Roof and Walking Deck as an approved product caught my eye...
so I looked it up and found a Japanese company, Lonseal Inc. with a vinyl type coating that utilizes cement underlayment to help it achieve fire resistance.
I've requested literature and samples from their US based division in Carson CA.
We'll report more on the product once we receive their samples and booklet.

I'd have to ask you the same question, what makes you an expert as a "real spec guy"? I guess like you I've been specifying and installing for a "long time".
FYI, I have my own small company, just me doing the work, no employees. I also sell jobs through a company whose owner is a good friend of mine, big jobs that would make ya jealous. Most of my computer time is used to write proposals that is taking work away from you.
You should find the courage to post your name on your comments, hiding behind aliases is lame.

So why don't you pony up the courage to say who you are and dispense with the bs hide n seek game. Then we can engage in real discourse, regarding the issues in this industry...like unethical repackagers who masquerade as manufacturer's and what to do about them...like those repackager's whose initials are....w.c.s.c.

workers comp-is that hard to get? You act like it's something of a big deal. Well it is if you have employees. I don't so I don't have to pay it.
Your posts are absolutely boring, nothing to say expect to shoot barbs that don't stick, and you get no respect because your lack of courage is holding you back. If you really want progress, you'll back up your words with a name. Of course, you must know by now that if and when you do, I'll be checking your company over quite thoroughly, and I'm sure we'll find a few skellys in the closet huh?
We have the product Lonseal on a floor of an upper patio that was installed 12 years ago. We live in the midwest, Illinois, with hard winters and summers. This product has held up very well but in the last 8 weeks, we were hit with a storm that dropped a tree onto this patio and needs to be replaced.
Is there a newer product out that would be better to replace this with?
